What role did women of France of third estate play in French Revolution?
Women of third estate of France played a crucial role in the French Revolution in the following ways:
- During revolutionary years, women started their own political clubs and newspapers to express their opinion about policies of the government.
- Women set-up sixty women clubs in different cities of France. The most famous among them were The Society of Revolutionary’ and 'Republican Women’. These were set up to pressurise the government.
- They also demanded to enjoy the same political rights as men i.e. right to vote, to be elected to the assembly and to hold political office. This resulted in voting rights for women.
