Explain what is rancidity?
Rancidity: It is defined as chemical decomposition of oils and fats is called rancidity. It spoils food materials that makes difficult for consumption.
It can be prevented by following methods:
(i) The packing of food materials should be replaced the air with Nitrogen.
(ii) The food materials should be placed at very low temperatures.
(iii) Addition of antioxidants also prevents rancidity process.
