What are the suggested reasons for the population

The high rate of growth is often referred to as population explosion.
The world population, which was around 2 billion in 1900 rocketed to about 6 billion in 2000.
In India too, we observed a similar growth pattern.
Some major reasons for population growth are as follows:
Ignorance and complete lack of awareness about the ill-effects of increasing population especially in rural regions.
Decline in death rate.
Continuous increase in the birth rate.
Increase in the young, reproductive age population. Social stigmas about girl child and desire to have boy child.
Poverty and illiteracy.
