What are rights?

What are rights? Why is it said that right comes with an obligation to respect others’ rights? Explain.

Right are reasonable claims of person recognised by society and sanctioned by law.
Rights come with an obligation to respect others rights as
(i) All of us want to live happily, without fear and without being subjected to degraded treatment.
(ii) For this we expect others to behave in such a way that does not harm us.
(iii) So a right is possible when we make a claim that is equally possible for others.
(iv) The claims should be reasonable and such that can be available to others in an equal measure.
