Monocots Dicots
These contain one cotyledon. These contain two cotyledons.
Leaves have parallel venation. Leaves have reticulate venation.
Fibrous root system is present. Tap root system is present.
Flowers are trimerous. Flowers are pentamerous.
e.g. rice (Oryza saf/Va), onion (allium cepa), maize (Zea mays) and sugarcane (Saccharums officinarum), etc. e.g. pea (Pisum sativum), rose (Rosa indica) and neem (Azadirachta indica).
