Name the type of muscles present in the following parts and give one function of each.

  1. Iris of eye
  2. Heart
  3. Lining of intestine

  1. Unstriated muscles or smooth muscles are present in iris of eye. These help in movement.
  2. Cardiac muscles are found in heart. They perform rhythmic contraction and relaxation throughout the life.
  3. Columnar epithelium present in inner lining of intestine. It facilitates movement across the epithelial barrier.
