Natural gas is a commercial source of energy. Liquified gas is used as cooking gas. It is also used in some thermal plants as fuel. Natural gas is likely to play a major role in bridging the gap between demand and supply of liquid hydrocarbon in future. At present, it is being used as a feed stock for core sector industries like fertilisers.
