Explain three reasons for the attraction of Europeans to Africa

The three reasons were
(i) Africa had abundant land and was rich in mineral resources.
Its population was relatively small.
{ii) The Europeans were hoping to establish plantations and mines to produce crops and minerals for export to Europe. There was a shortage of labour as Africans were unwilling to work for wages.
{iii) In Africa, industrial revolution did not take place. Africans were militarily weak and backward.
Europeans thought that they could easily capture the country and use its resource and people for their own profit.
