(i) Introduction of circulating libraries after 1740 enabled the people to have easier and greater access to books.
(ii) Technological improvements in printing brought down the prices of books.
(iii) Innovation in marketing led to an increase in the sale of books.
(iv) Books could be hired on payment of nominal fees.
(v) Those who did not have money-to buy the book, could borrow it from these places and enjoy it.
