Elaborate on the Great Granary and the Assembly Hall.
Historians believe that the Great Granary was used by the people of Harappa to store surplus food grains. There were two rows of granaries and each row had six granaries. A similar structure has also been found at Mohenjodaro. All such granaries were built close to the river bank for the convenience of transportation. Near the one at Harappa, circular brick platforms were built for threshing grain. Many furnaces were also built in order to produce various metal objects.
The Assembly Hall was found in the city of Mohenjodaro. It was a pillared hall with thick walls and 20 pillars of burnt or baked bricks. Historians speculate that it might have been an assembly hall, a prayer hall or a palace.
