Five kingdom system was proposed by RH Whittaker in 1969.
The five kingdom are
(i) Monera [ii) Protista (iii) Fungi (iv) Plantae (v) Animalia
Kingdom-Monera and Protista both include photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic forms
and organism with cell wall and without cell wall.
Unicellular green algae like Chlamydomonas and Volvox have not been included in kingdom-Protista.
The slime moulds are quite different from the other protists with which they have been
combined.
