What were the reactions of people to khadi? Explain.

The people showed following reactions towards khadi
(i) By the middle of the 20th century, large numbers of people began boycotting British or mill-made cloth and adopting khadi. But khadi was more coarser, more expensive and , difficult to obtain than the mill-made cloth.
(ii) Swadeshi Movement developed the notion that the use of khadi was a patriotic duty.
(iii) National leader like Motilal Nehru, women freedom fighter like Sarojini Naidu, Kamala Nehru gave up expensive foreign cloth and accepted Indian cloth, but not coarse khadi.
(iv) Dalit nationalist Babasaheb Ambedkar and many of his followers never gave up Western-style attire.
