Ans. Jobbers were people employed by industrialists to recruit the right people from among the job seekers. Very often the Jobber was an old and trusted worker. The following were the Junctions of a Jobber
(i) He got people from his village and ensured them jobs
(ii) Helped people setde them in the city.
(iii) Also provided money in times of crisis. Jobbers became persons with some authority and power.
As the recruitment in factories increased Jobbers began demanding money and gifts for their favours and controlling the lives of workers.
