What is a cellular pool ? What are its two phases

The collection or sum total of different types of biomolecules, compounds and ions present in a cell is called the cellular pool. It has two phases -aqueous and non-aqueous. Aqueous phase contains chemicals dispersed in water forming either true solution or colloidal solution. Substances that form true solution are known as crystalloids and that produces colloidal solution are called colloids.
Non-aqueous phase contain chemicals deposited in various structure like chromatin, cell membrane
and cell wall.
