Two groups (X and Y) of bean plants of similar size and same leaf area were placed in identical conditions

Two groups (X and Y) of bean plants of similar size and same leaf area were placed in identical conditions. Group X was exposed to light of wavelength 400 - 450 nm and group Y to light of wavelength of 500 - 550 nm. Compare the photosynthetic rate of two groups giving reason.

Plant Y will survive longer because the chlorophyll will absorb maximum amount of light in the blue and red regions of the spectrum and carry out photosynthesis as well as fulfill its oxygen requirement.
