The unpaired electrons present in Aluminium and Silicon are in 3${{p}^{1}}$ and 3${{p}^{2}}$ orbitals. Due to more nu-clear charge in the case of Si [14p] than in Al [13p], electrons in Si will experience more nuclear charge than Al.
