(iii) How will you explain the harmful aspects of using chemicals as fertilisers and pesticides.
(iv) What values do you promote by this?

(i) The major limitations of first Green Revolution of 1960s are:
(a) Unavailability of quality/hybrid seeds.
(b) Lack of modern equipment.
(ii) The crop varieties introduced into India then are Sonalika and Kalyan Sona of wheat.
Semi-dwarf varities of rice IR8 and Taichung Native-1 were also introduced.
(iii) The harmful aspects of using chemicals as fertilisers and pesticides are:
(a) Degradation of soil
(b) Pollution
