The Bishop tells Persome that there is so much suffering in the world and he can do so little to lessen it. What suffering did the Bishop talk about and what did he do for that?

By suffering, the Bishop means all the hardships that people face in this world. No one in the world is happy because poverty, sickness, financial problems, depression etc can be seen everywhere. The Bishop wants to help people overcome this suffering. He tries his best to help the poor people by giving them money, his possessions and anything else that he can. He also tries to help the sick people of his parish but he says that it is not enough.
