Bolivia is a poor country in Latin America. In the city of Cochabamba, the control of water supply was in the hands of municipality. People used their service at a reasonable price.
The three main causes of Bolivia’s protest were
(i) Due to the World Bank’s pressure, the government of Bolivia sold the right of water supply1 to multinational company.
(ii) The company immediately increased the price of water by four times.
(iii) People got new increased water bill which they could not bear.
All these factors led to a popular protest at once.
