Photosynthetic organisms occur at different depths in the ocean

Photosynthetic organisms occur at different depths in the ocean. Do they receive qualitatively and quantitatively the same light? How do they adapt to carry out photosynthesis under these
conditions?

Photosynthetic organisms at different depths in the ocean do not receive qualitatively and quantitatively the same light. The plants, which require wholesome light remain in the shallow waters of the banks. Algae which can tolerate more dilutions of light penetrate deeper inside water. Green algae remain in the shore line, brown algae descend to intermediate depths, while red algae form the limit below where no other autotrophic plants can grow.
