(i) The body of the animals in phylum-Chordata is triploblastic coelomate with bilateral symmetry.
(ii) Notochord and dorsal nerve chord is present.
(iii) Complete digestive system is present. A cartilaginous or bony endoskeleton is present in majority of the members.
