Important features of telecom network are mentioned below
(i) India has one of the largest telecom network in the world.
(ii) More than two-thirds of the villages in India have already been covered with Subscriber Trunk Dialing (STD) and this facility is to be extended 24 hours in every village of the country.
(iii) All the urban areas have a dense network of telecom.
(iv) There is a uniform rate of STD facilities all over India due to integrated development in space technology with communication technology.
