Make a table to summarize the contributions made to the cell theory by Robert Hooke,Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann, and Rudolf Virchow.
Robert Hooke: Hooke uses a microscope to look at cork, which is a plant material. Upon doing so, he finds that it is made out of a monastery’s tiny rooms, which were called cells. To this day, the term “cell” is used to describe basic units of life.
Matthias Schleiden: Schleiden concludes that all plants are made up of cells.
Theodor Schwann: Schwann concludes that all animals are made up of cells.
Rudolf Virchow: Virchow proposes that all cells come from existing cells, hence completing the cell theory.
