In the book Starship Troopers, what other alien species can Heinlein’s Bugs be compared to?
Assuming that the ‘Bugs’ can be compared to any alien species, then here is an example.
Heinlein’s Bugs closely resemble, in more ways than one, the ‘Bugger’ characters from the book ‘Ender’s Game’ by Orson Scott Card. Within both books, a young man rises through the ranks to fight back against an alien race. The manner in which the book dictates how battles proceed, the physical appearances of the Bugs, and their counterpart Buggers, and the general mannerisms of the species in relation to mankind. It’s clear that both species are hostile, and responding to human threats. They do so by waging war. In both publications, the extraterrestrials are highly evolved, menacing creatures who will do battle with the humans to protect themselves in the galactic world.
