Democracy involves conflict of interest and view points. These conflict often turned into.big struggle which is solved by several different kind of organisation. Ordinary citizen play a significant role through different way to shape democracy.
We can observe this in following two examples
(i) In Nepal, protest for restoration of Democracy was given by SPA (Seven Party Alliance). This alliance included the seven big parties that had some members in the parliament. Protest was also joined by the Nepalese communist party. Struggle also involved many organisation other than political parties. All the major labour union and their federation joined this movement. Many other organisation like the organisation of the indigeneous people, teachers, lawyers and human rights groups entended support to the movement.
(ii) The protest against water privatization in Bolivia was also not led by any political party. It was led by an organisation called as FEDECOR. This organisation comprised the local proffessionals, including engineers and environmentalists. They were supported by a federation of farmers who relied an irrigation, the confederation of factory workers, unions, middle-class students from the university of Cochabamba and the city’s growing population of homeless street children.
Thus, it can be concluded that in a democracy, several different kinds of organisations work behind any big struggle.
