How were chariots used in a warfare in ancient Egypt?
In general, Egyptian chariots would be used as missile or skirmish units that would break holes into enemy lines which infantry troops could then exploit. Chariots would often have a driver and an archer, who would shoot at the front ranks of the enemy. The chariot would also cause panic and confusion amongst the enemy troops, which would also aid in the fighting. Chariots were rarely charged directly into ranks of soldiers as this would only lead to the chariot breaking and the soldiers being killed.
