How many National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries have been set-up by the government to take care of natural heritage of India? Why have these been established by the government?
To take care of natural heritage of India, government has set-up 89 national parks and 490 wild life sanctuaries.
Reasons for establishing national Parks and wild life sanctuaries are
(i) To protect the natural ecosystem of our flora and fauna.
(ii) To prevent the indiscriminate destruction of natural environment.
