How effective were m60 in the Vietnam War?
The M60 was the main heavy machine gun used by the United States army during the Vietnam War and was one of the most important weapons of the entire conflict. It’s reliability and heavy duty fire made it a formidable weapon that was used effectively on countless occasions against Vietcong troops.
There were a number of problems with the M60, however, as it was prone to jam in the middle of battle and sometimes continued to fire even when the trigger was not held due to a problem with the trigger system. Despite these problems, the M60 was still used in countless different battles throughout the war and was a central weapon of the United States military.
