How did british invasion of Iceland happen?
Answer:
During the Second World War, Britain invaded Iceland in the belief that it would become a strong position for Germany if left undefended. In 1940 they urged the Icelandic government to let British troops occupy the island, but this request was denied. Taking matters into their own hands, the British government then sent a small and relatively untrained force to take the island. They met no resistance and quickly took control of the island which remained in British control until the end of the war.
