National Rural Employment Guarantee Act is one of the anti poverty measures of government. It was enacted in the years 2005.
Various features of the Act are
(i) Guaranteed 100 days of assured employment every year to selected number of rural houses.
(ii) One third of proposed jobs would be reserved for women.
(iii) If an applicant is not provided employment within 15 days she will be entitled to a daily unemployment allowance.
