Give one argument in favour of the fact that frictional force is a non-conservative force

The direction of the frictional force is opposite to the direction of motion. When a body is moved, say from point A to B and then back to A then work is required to be done both during forward and backward motion. So, the net work done in a round trip is not zero. Hence, the frictional force is a nonconservative force
