Explain how the Vietnam War first allowed the expansion of presidential power and later caused power to be limited.
The Vietnam War gave the President more powers by setting a precedent of going to war without Congressional approval, which LBJ did. It limited power because the people were so against the war they began to lose faith in the government, which in turn made the president wary of using his powers in a potentially unpopular way.
