Does zero count as positive or negative?
It depends on where you live.
In most of the world (including the US), we say that positive numbers are the numbers strictly larger than 0 and negative numbers are the numbers strictly smaller than 0. So then 0 isn’t positive or negative.
But in some places like France, they choose to say that positive numbers that the numbers larger than OR EQUAL TO 0 and negative numbers are the numbers smaller than OR EQUAL TO 0. So with these definitions, 0 is both positive and negative.
To be safe, you should consult your textbook or your teacher as to which convention you’re supposed to use. But either way, 0 is never just positive or just negative. It’s either neither or both.
