Metaphase of mitosis :
- Each chromosome consists of two chromatids which are held together by centromere.
- The chromosomes line up in one plane to make up the equatorial plate.
Metaphase 1 of meiosis :
1.Homologous chromosomes form bivalent. Each bivalent consists of four chromatids and two centromeres.
2.Bivalents become arranged in the plane of the equator forming equational plate.
