Did Sweden fight in ww2 or was it neutral?
Officially, Sweden remained neutral throughout the Second World War although it aided in the campaigns of both Allied and Axis powers throughout the conflict. In the early years of the war, Sweden allowed Germany to transport troops and supplies through the country and in the final years it allowed the Allied powers to use Swedish airbases on bombing raids. In all the Swedish government attempted to remain as neutral as possible but made a number of concessions throughout the war. It also became a center of refuge for many individuals fleeing Nazi occupation, particularly Danish Jews who fled from German persecution.
