Describe the various types of sexual reproduction in fungi

Sexual reproduction is absent in fungi imperfecti but occures in all other groups of fungi.
The union of two gametes are called gametangia.
In fungi the mycelia may be homothallic or heterothallic. There are three kinds of sexual reproduction in Fungi:
(i) Isogamy: It is the fusion of morphologically similar gametes.
(ii) Anisogamy: It is the fusion of two morphologically and physiologically dissimilar gametes.
(iii) Oogamy : It is the fusion of female egg with that of a male antherozoid. These gametes are produced within oogonium and anthridium. There are two special types of gametangia. Somatogamy and spermatization are other modes of sexual reproduction in some fungal groups.
