Describe the life’of people who lived in America till the 1780s.
In America till the 1780s, white Americans lived in a small narrow strip of coastal land in the East. There were various native American groups. Some were settled and some were nomadic.
Many of them lived only by hunting, gathering and fishing. Others cultivated corn, beans, tobacco, pumpkin, etc. Some were expert trappers who supplied beaver fur to European traders. By the early twentieth century white Americans gradually controlled the West coast by displacing the local tribes and made it an agricultural belt.
