Unorganised sector constitutes small and scattered
commercial units, which are outside the control of the government. There are no rules and regulations in the unorganised sector and jobs here are low paid and irregular. Employment is not secure in this sector.
Three reasons why people like to work in the organised sector are
(i) Workers enjoy security of employment and are expected to work only a fixed number of hours.
(ii) Workers get several benefits from the employers. They get paid leave, payment during holidays, provident fund, gratuity, pension on retirement etc. (Hi) Workers get medical benefits and also enjoy facilities like safe working environment, clean drinking water, etc.
