(i) 20 g of water Atomic masses of hydrogen and oxygen are 1 and 16 respectively
(ii) 22 g of carbon dioxide [Atomic masses of carbon and oxygen are 12 u and 16 u respectively]

(i) Molecular mass of water = 1 x 2 + 16 = 18 u.
Number of moles in 20g of water = 20/18 = 1.1 mole.
(ii) Molecular mass of carbon dioxide = 12+ 2 x 16 = 44 u.
Number of moles in 22g of carbon dioxide = 20/44 = 0.5 mol.
