As the velocity of light increases, the refractive index of the medium decreases. Light enters from air to water having refractive index 4/3. Find the speed of light in water. The speed of light in vacuum is 3 x ${ 10 }^{ 8 }$ m

Here, n = 4/3 = 1.33, v = ?, c = 3 x ${ 10 }^{ 8 }$ m
We know that, n = c/v or
v= c/n = 3 x ${ 10 }^{ 8 }$ / 1.33 = 2.25 x ${ 10 }^{ 8 }$ m
