Are there known reasons to why did Constantine move the capital of Rome to Constantinople?

Answer:

Constantine moved the capital from Rome to Constantinople as he believed the Western half of the Empire was doomed to collapse and that the Eastern portion had become the center of Roman trade, commerce, and politics. He believed that he could serve the Empire better by serving in Constantinople and by this time Rome and most of Italy had been devastated by numerous invasions, rebellions, coups, and revolts that had left the area poor and far less economically prosperous than the regions of the east.
