Social difference becomes a social division in mostly two cases like;
(a) Overlapping and Cross Cutting. When one kind of social difference becomes more important than
other and people start feeling that they belong to other communities. This type of situation produces social division.
E.g. Dalits in our country tend to be poor, landless and suffered with discrimination.
(b) In another way, politics looks after due representation of various communities.
Political parties frame policies to redress the grievances of the disadvantaged and discriminated communities.
Besides, in many countries under recent trend there are some political parties that focus only on one community.
