A mass of 20 kg is dropped from a height of 5 m. Find its .
(i) velocity and
(ii) KE as it just reaches the ground.

Given, height, h = 0.5 m, mass, m = 20 kg
(i) ${{v}^{2}}$ = 2gh= 2 x 10 x 0.5 = 10 [vg = 10 ${{ms}^{-2}}$]
v = 3.16 ms-1
(ii) We know that, KE= 1/2m${{v}^{2}}$ = —1/2X 20 X 10= 100 J
