Let the ball cost = x cents . So the bat shall cost x cents + 1 dollar = x + 100 cents. Now it is given Cost of Bat + Ball costs 1 Dollar + 10 cents i.e. 100 cents + 10 cents = 110 cents .
So, x (cost of ball ) + ( x + 100 ) (cost of bat ) = 2x+100 = 110 (from above )
So, 2x = 10 . So x = 5 .
Hence Cost of Ball = 5 cents
